What game, what are the specs of your laptop? We need to know this information to help you.
Now tell us what video card you have and the amount of ram you have.

Mostly laptops are not good for playing games. They have made gaming laptops like Dells XPS series or Aleinware. The problem is that they can’t be upgraded that well. You can put stuff like Harddrives and Ram in them but you can’t upgrade the video card(well unless its like the gaming kind I noted above). The video card is the big player in 3d games. Any huge gamer will tell you without you can’t really do much.
You can however upgrade your Ram but that isn’t gona help it much and will probably be a waste of money that you could have used on a real gaming machine.

first of all– you must match game requirements with your laptop. 2nd– i would say is to make sure you are running a clean laptop. shut-down all background programs INCLUDING screensaver. Yes, anti-virus program also. Get a good defrag and disk clean-up for better performance. Last but not least– you can always over-clock your graphics card but that isnt always the best way to go. I hope this helped. I have been through it myself. Mine was a sound card issue.

Laptops have horrible 3d cards, so you won’t get great speeds in 3d games. For starters, make sure your laptop is plugged into the wall, they often run faster if they use AC power instead of battery power. They do this on purpose to make the battery last longer.
You can’t replace the video card in a laptop because they’re usually built into the board.
Of course having enough ram helps, but as long as you have 512mb or more you’ll be fine.

your labtop is to slow to play games get a new one, with a least a 3G CPU and 3G of RAM, that is what most new games need, like OBLIVION. Any less thin tat you are going to have a slow game with alot of LAG.

need more specs of your laptop.need to know what game.
Usually you can not upgrade laptop. Will need to buy new one.
you need enough RAM ( at least 1 GB , but 2GB is my recommendation )
you need ATI or NVIDIA GPU depending on game…
and possibly faster CPU..
